John Schulz

    John Schulz forst became a committee member at the 1978 conference held at Cal Poly Pomona, Kellogg West. He was on the committee as the conference evaluator and was working with most of the original founders. The attendance was good but the facilities at the college were limited and could not accommodate exhibitors. At this time the MSC was not yet a corporation. The next year (1979) the conference was held at Cal Poly SLO. Again the facilities were getting crowded and the attendance was getting much bigger. Prior to joining MSC, John had organized some large conference, Schulz convinced the committee that they needed to expand by having the MSC at a large popular hotel and start getting exhibitors. The next MSC (1981) was held at the Inn at the Park in Anaheim and was quite a success. Shortly thereafter the Committee decided to become a Corporation which was also accomplished in 1981. John was elected to the Board of Directors in 1982 and has been a Board member since. He was the President to the 1987 MSC at the Irvine Marriot and was the Chairman of the Board in 1988 at the Long Beach Hyatt Regency. Schulz is presently the MSC Board Secretary.
